Hardware and setup
RetailManager needs Windows 7, 10 or 11, an Intel Celeron processor or equivalent, at least 4 GB of RAM, 15 GB of free disk space, a 1024x768 display with 32-bit colour, and a local or network printer. AAAPOS does not recommend Mini PCs or NUCs.
AAAPOS lists Windows 7, 10 and 11 as the supported operating systems for RetailManager and does not list macOS. RetailManager is installed on your Windows PC along with its database. RM-Mobile extends it to iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets, and RM-Mobile Pro adds remote connection over the internet.
Most small retail shops need a Windows PC to run the POS software, a receipt printer, a cash drawer, a barcode scanner and an EFTPOS terminal. A label printer is useful if you print barcode or price labels. You can buy the hardware from the AAAPOS shop, and RetailManager Professionals can advise on the right equipment for your shop.

Most thermal receipt printers use 80 mm wide rolls, and a size such as 80x80 means 80 mm wide with an 80 mm roll diameter. Check your printer’s specifications for the maximum roll diameter, and use thermal paper rather than bond paper in a thermal printer. The AAAPOS shop sells printer consumables.
Use the official AAAPOS downloads page. It lists RetailManager-related downloads and documents, RM-Mobile Hub and mobile-app links, Webstore Manager, and links to selected receipt-printer manufacturers.
The AAAPOS downloads page lists the RetailManager v12.5 user guide and other reference documents. Because some downloads may relate to older versions, check the version shown on the document before following its instructions.
AAAPOS publishes free RetailManager video tutorials on its website and the AAAPOS YouTube channel. They cover sales, stock, purchase orders, stocktakes, pricing grades, promotions, customers, lay-bys, staff security, GST, hardware setup, and MYOB and Xero exports.
Contact support. AAAPOS says that as long as you have an internet connection, it can fix problems such as database errors and docket printers that stop working. Download TeamViewer so a technician can connect to your PC, then call 1300 555 115. Support plans include remote help, or you can book one-off hourly support.
